Three recent commissions

Each firm required a distinct editorial posture: an architectural monograph, a clinical publication index, and a discreet advisory record.

Commission I Oslo & Copenhagen

Nordic Form Studio

An architectural practice of twenty-four architects needed a site that read like a printed monograph rather than a real-estate brochure. We paired daylight photography with measured elevation drawings and a searchable chronological building index.

Verve Bioscience

A preventive cardiology group preparing for Series B diligence needed clinicians, prospective trial participants, and institutional partners to find peer-reviewed data within two clicks, without stock laboratory imagery.

Commission III Zurich & London

Why private firms hire a dedicated practice instead of a large agency

Most companies face an unsatisfactory choice between self-serve theme builders that flatten their reputation and traditional retainers that drag on for half a year.

Comparison of website commissioning routes
Criterion Site-Builder Themes Traditional Retainer Agencies CogniSphere LLC
Editorial & visual identity Borrowed layouts shared by thousands of unrelated businesses; generic filler phrasing. High craft, but diluted through layers of junior account managers and committee decks. Written and art-directed by a senior principal specifically for your firm's subject matter.
Calendar to launch Days, provided someone inside your firm writes and lays out every page alone. Fourteen to twenty-four weeks of discovery workshops, slide decks, and billing cycles. Ten to fourteen business days from initial interview to live production launch.
Codebase & longevity Locked into proprietary platform markup and recurring per-seat subscription tiers. Often handed over as a fragile WordPress installation dependent on twenty third-party plugins. Clean, self-contained Next.js code with a visual editor and zero plugin maintenance.

A note from the founder

A serious company deserves a website with its own point of view.

When a prospective client, clinical partner, or institutional investor looks up your firm, your website is often the first piece of writing and design they judge you by. Yet many accomplished private companies still present themselves through a generic template that looks indistinguishable from their competitors.

Good web design is fundamentally an editorial discipline. It requires sitting with a founder, understanding the exact vocabulary of their field, deciding whether the site should read like a monograph, a technical ledger, or a personal letter, and removing every section that does not belong.

At CogniSphere, we keep our practice small so that senior judgment stays on the work from the first conversation to the final press-check. You get a website with unmistakable character, built cleanly and delivered on a brisk, predictable schedule.

Practical questions

Straight answers on authorship, timelines, content editing, and post-launch ownership.

How do you make sure our website does not look like a template?

We begin every commission with your firm's actual subject matter—your buildings, clinical publications, transaction record, or industrial capabilities—and draw the layout from scratch in Figma before writing a single line of code. We do not use pre-made themes or component kits.

Who writes the text on the site?

We do, in close collaboration with you. Most projects stall at traditional agencies because the client is asked to supply all the copy in a shared folder. Instead, we interview your partners and draft clear, factual copy as part of the first milestone.

How is a two-week build possible without cutting corners?

We take on only two commissions a month and eliminate the bureaucratic overhead of large agencies. You work directly with the principal designer and engineer, decisions happen in real time on the Figma canvas, and our Next.js production architecture is streamlined for corporate sites.

Can our internal team update text and photographs after launch?

Yes. Every site includes a clean visual content management studio. Your team can edit headlines, body copy, case studies, team biographies, and images without touching code or risking layout shifts.

What happens after the site goes live?

Your firm owns the repository, domain configuration, and design files outright. There is no mandatory monthly retainer, and because the site is pre-rendered without a database of third-party plugins, ongoing hosting and maintenance remain minimal.
